Should CIPO become an international authority?
Thanks to the
Canadian Intellectual Property Office for allowing us to make available a report based on an in-depth consultation of an impressive collection of Canadian patent agents. The issue was related to the CIPO project to request the status allowing it to conduct international searches and international examinations of applications made under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. The
consultation report concludes that the most concerned CIPO clients have diverging views on the topic. This report follows a first consultation conducted in 1997 and documented in
another of our reports.
