Sondage sur les réactions des résidants de la zone urbaine de l'Outaouais à des suggestions de noms pour la nouvelle ville

Public consultation report presented to the Transition Committee Outaouais, June 2001

This report presents the implementation and the results of a consultation among residents of the urban portion of the Outaouais via a telephone survey based on a rigorous methodology. It presents important conclusions regarding the preference of survey participants for the names of one of the existing cities as opposed to an entirely new name, the support collected by each of the six names offered in the consultation, the images associated with each name, etc.. From these results and other considerations, the Transition Committee Outaouais made a recommendation to the minister of Municipal Affairs that the name "Gatineau" be selected.

Several media echoed the news, including TVA, Le Droit, La Presse and the Ottawa Citizen.
